This course provides an overview of the Canadian legal system for internationally-trained CPA students seeking to meet the Canadian business law prerequisite requirement for entry to the CPA PEP.

This course was developed for Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) students who already have an eligible undergraduate business law course from outside Canada, but require more exposure to Canadian business law in order to meet the Canadian business law prerequisite requirement for entry to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP).

CPD

The authority to decide what learning program constitutes acceptable CPD and evidence of CPD hours to meet regulatory requirements remains solely with your provincial or regional CPA body

  • role of the Courts
  • process for suing in Canada

There are five modules in this course. To help ensure you fully understand the concepts covered, a brief quiz will follow each module.

This online course consists of seven lessons that take one to two hours to complete. Each lesson has a number of exercises and quizzes to allow you to test your understanding. Upon completion of the seven lessons, you will need to successfully pass a brief summary quiz with a minimum grade of 70% to receive the Certificate of Completion; however, you can select individual lessons that you find relevant to your needs.


Upon Completion

Once you’ve finished this course, you will need to forward a copy of your completion certificate to your provincial or regional CPA body for full exemption from the CPA preparatory course, Business Law.
