    Print Publications Refund Conditions:
  • Order returned within 30 days of receipt
  • Publication must be returned in original, re-saleable condition
    Electronic Publications Refund Conditions:
  • Discretionary refund available within 30 days of purchase
  • Refunds are at the discretion of CPA Canada after an assessment of product access has been performed

Pro forma invoice

A pro forma invoice will be calculated to provide you with the estimated cost of all orders. The pro forma invoice is subject to any changes in price or policies initiated by CPA Canada at its discretion. In the case of a discrepancy between the pro forma invoice and the actual invoice issued by CPA Canada, CPA Canada's invoice will be binding.

Backordered products

Orders containing a combination of both available and backordered products will be handled as follows:

  1. Available products and all associated shipping, handling, and taxes will be charged at the point of sale.
  2. Once backordered products are shipped, an invoice for the product, along with applicable shipping, handling, and taxes, will be sent.

Shipping and handling

Regular

Regular shipping orders are delivered via CanPar, which requires someone to be present to accept delivery.

Shipping and handling is calculated on regular orders in Canada* as follows:

  • Under $250: 15% shipping and handling
  • $250 and over: 10% shipping and handling

*Outside Canada: As above, or actual cost if greater. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Express

Express orders are shipped via courier with the associated cost, plus the following handling fee:

  • Under $250: 15%
  • $250 and over: 10%

Taxes

Goods and services tax (GST)

GST will apply to all publications, products, and services (not applicable to orders shipped outside Canada).

Harmonized sales tax (HST)

Effective July 1, 2010, the provincial portion of HST will apply on the full price of all publications (other than printed books), products, and services, including shipping and handling charges.

Quebec sales tax (QST)

QST will apply on the full price of all publications, products, and services, including shipping and handling charges (Québec residents only).

Book standing orders

Purchasers of books on standing order automatically receive the next edition of these publications, as well as any supplemental material that is published between editions. CPA Canada will invoice you upon shipment of the material. (Note: If a new edition is published within 45 days of purchasing the prior edition, the new edition will be supplied at no charge.)

User license policies

Databases

  • Initial Office License entitles you to the number of users indicated on the Knotia Store pricing page for a title. (Note: Each user may access the subscription at the same time.)
  • Additional User License entitles you to another single user.
  • Annual subscription provides access to a title for one year from the date of purchase.
  • Single issue subscription provides access to a title until the next issue is available for purchase.

  • Initial User License entitles you to a single user.
  • Additional User License entitles you to another single user.

Subscription cancellations

Annual subscriptions cancelled three months after the most recent start date, or after the majority of the subscription benefit has been provided (e.g., in the case of book standing orders, the book), will not be refunded.

Registration Cancellation Policies

In-person Events Cancellation Policy (Conferences, Symposiums, Workshops and Special Events)

  • 14+ calendar days prior to start date: full refund available.
  • 5-13 calendar days prior to start date: $200 cancellation fee applies.
  • 4 calendar days or fewer prior to start date: no refund available. Option to transfer to the virtual conference, if applicable.

Virtual Conferences, Virtual Workshops, Virtual Classrooms and Capstones Cancellation Policy:

  • 14+ calendar days prior to start date: full refund available.
  • 5-13 calendar days prior to start date: $50 cancellation fee applies.
  • 4 calendar days or fewer prior to start date: no refund available

On-Demand and Certificate Program Cancellation Policy:

  • Discretionary refund available within 30 days of purchase if product materials have not been accessed.
  • No refund will be processed once the registrant has accessed program materials.
  • Refunds are at the discretion of CPA Canada after an assessment of product access has been performed.
  • No refunds available after 30 days of purchase.

In-Residence Tax Program Cancellation Policy:

  • 30+ calendar days prior to start date: full refund available.
  • 7-29 calendar days prior to start date: $300 cancellation fee and any hotel-related cancellation fees apply.
  • 6 calendar days or fewer prior to start date: no refund available.
