Building on the international tax concepts covered in the In-Depth Tax Program, this in-residence course expands on the basic issues surrounding the taxation of foreign operations. You will learn about the most effective planning strategies to minimize tax for businesses that have expanded, or are considering expansion, outside of Canada.

Applicants should:

  • Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program or Canadian Master of Taxation, and two or more years of work experience after completion of In-Depth Tax Program; or
  • Have a minimum of 8 years full-time experience in a Canadian income tax role.

Professionals who do not meet these requirements may be admitted by special request

Special Requirements

Participants are required to live in-residence during the course. Your accommodations will be pre-booked on your behalf by CPA Canada. Participants are responsible for settling accounts (e.g. accommodations and incidentals) directly with the Hotel. Late arrivals, early departures and “no-shows” will be charged for the full hotel reservation.

All participants are required to bring the latest edition of the Income Tax Act to the course site.

Participants should also have ready access to one or more of the recognized tax services at their offices for any advance preparation.

NOTE: Some pre-work will be required, including online studies and reading prior to classroom sessions.


Tuition Fee $3,695 plus $770 Facility Fee* = $4,465

Facility fee includes daily continental breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks and meeting facilities. Dinner is not included.

All participants are required to live in-residence for the duration of the course.

Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend an event for any reason, you may substitute, by arrangement with the Participant Coordinator, someone else from your organization, or, you may cancel up to 30 calendar days prior to the course start date for a full refund. Cancellations received within 30 calendar days of the conference start date will be subject to a $300 administration fee (plus applicable taxes) and any related hotel cancellation fees.
